Alcohol Markers Challenge - The Outlawz

Good morning!  Happy Friday!  Hope you had a good week and you have fun plans for the weekend!  It's another gorgeous Spring day here and I'm looking forward to getting out to enjoy it!  Unfortunately, we've got lots of the awful yellow pine pollen right now.  Everything is covered with it and even if you don't normally suffer from allergies, it can be hard this time of year.  Anyway, I am here with a quick post to share my DT card for this week's Alcohol Markers Challenge at The Outlawz site.  The theme this week is "Keep Calm and ...".  We are honoring National Stress Awareness Month, so you can fill in the blank with any relaxing activity you'd like, but you must have coloring with alcohol markers (any brand) on your project.

Here is my idea of relaxing:

My card base and mats are SU Not Quite Navy and the patterned papers are bits from my scrap bag.  I created the relaxing tropical scene with two images from Make it Crafty - Tropical Waterfall Digi Stamp and Hula Girl Digi Stamp.  I printed the merged image on MiC Blending Card and colored it all with my Copics.  I also added in the sky and clouds with my Copics.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  I wanted the scene to take center stage so I didn't add any embellishments to this one.

Here is a close-up of the colored image:

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to visit the Alcohol Markers Challenge and check out the "chilling" projects from my teammies, Dawn, Linda, Penny and Kathi!  We hope you will play along!  The April challenges are being sponsored by Make it Crafty and we have two $10 GCs up for grabs this month.  One is for one randomly-selected participant in the month's challenges as usual, but as a bonus, we'll have a second draw for participants who entered using a Make it Crafty image.  So you have two chances at an awesome MiC prize.  It's good incentive to break out your favorite Make it Crafty stamp and join in!

I am entering my card in the following challenge:
Deep Ocean Challenge #75 (inspired by a movie; mine is Blue Hawaii)

Have a great day and see you soon!

  3. Oh Carla... what an inviting scene you have created!!! I love how you merged images and colored this gorgeous scene! I want to be there!!! LOL!

The pollen is bad here too and it's very windy besides so being outside in this lovely sunshine and warm temps is still kind of hard!

    Have a great weekend!

  9. I just typed this and then hit sign out instead of publish. Sigh...
Anyway, I said that I love, love, love this! It is a great design, beautiful DP and scene you created with the merged images, and your coloring is fabulous! Love the sentiment on this too, and the card makes me homesick for Hawaii! ;^)
Got my new Samsung S5 this a.m. and so far, so good. It is different than the S3, that's for sure, but am figuring out my way around it. Worst part is that I have to enter all my calendar items again--drat, lol.
Price was $250; rebate is $150; credit for old phone is $66. So, all in all, turned out to be a good deal, methinks. :^)
    Have a great weekend!
    Hugs, Penny
